All you need to know about the iPhone 5

Apple Inc designed and marketed the 6th generation smartphone called the iPhone 5 which succeeded the iPhone 4s and proceeded to its successor iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. The iPhone 5 was released on 21st September 2012. This phone was the last of the iPhone series to be overseen by Steve Jobs.

This device showed a considerable change in design as compared to its predecessors, for instance, its thinner and lighter aluminum body, taller screen, supporting LTE, etc. Also, this iPhone model followed the iPhone 4s to include the new Sony made 8-megapixel camera.

On 14th September 2012, Apple received over 2 million pre orders within 24 hours. apple described the sales of this iPhone 5 as extraordinary Since the pre-orders exceeded the supply in the Market as on 21st September 2012 which was much more than the device’s predecessor’s sale. Although the phone’s introduction revoked a huge hue and cry on the sale of the product, yet the customers faced an enormous issue with the chipping of the coat of the phone.

Finally, Apple discontinued the iPhone 5 officially on 10th September 2013 but announced its successors iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Hence, it was called the iPhone to have had the shortest lifespan being existed for just 12 months in production. It was the 2nd iPhone to have supported the 5 major iOS versions being iOS 6,7,8,9 and 10.

At the unveiling of this iPhone 5, Apple also introduced the iPod touch and the iPod Nano. On the 30th of November in the same year as the release of the iPhone 5, an unlocked version of it was added to Apple’s online store where the price of the 16GB model was priced around $649.00.

The iPhone 5 had a screen as wide as 4 inches which offers convenient media viewing. The phone came with a 16gb storage which is sufficient for storing huge amounts of music, games, apps, etc. It also supported the 2G,3G and 4G connectivity that enabled hassle free web browsing. It’s color variants were slate and black. The battery capacity was 1600 mAh offering a battery talk time of up to 480 minutes. The device weighed 3.95 ounces.

However, since the phone has been discontinued by Apple officially there are means customers can still get their hands on this Apple’s gadget. eBay.com offers an unlocked used iPhone 5 16gb in black as well as in slate for $85, $79.95, having a return policy and pay back the money in 30 days or even an assured replacement.
